What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect information about you from you, or your employer, when you or they fill in a form on our website (“our website”), or correspond with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise.

This includes information you, or your employer, provides when you register for our newsletter, book a public or tailored course, engage us for executive coaching, send an enquiry using our enquiry form, or email / call us to discuss our services.

This information may include your name, the address and e-mail address you provide, job title, dietary preferences, and phone number(s).

On each of your visits to our site we will automatically collect technical information, including the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, your login information, browser type and version, linked websites visited from our sites, and information about your visit, including page interaction information.

We collect anonymous information through our server log files; for example, the number of visitors to the web-site at any time, but it cannot be used to identify individuals.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. We will add you to our marketing list to receive our newsletter if you explicitly check the relevant box on our course booking system; if you do business with us (soft opt-in); or if you sign up for our newsletter via our web-site.

You can remove yourself from this list at any point by using the unsubscribe button at the bottom of our newsletter.

In submitting your data to us you agree that we have the right to share it with:

  • carefully selected third parties who help us to provide / improve our contracted service to you (for example, our booking system partner, our systems developers to provide new functionality for our booking system)

We will transfer your personal information if The Extraordinary Training Company Ltd is sold to, or acquired by, a third party. In which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets. You will have the option to request that your data is not transferred.

Where we store and process your data

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers based in the UK.

The systems and staff we use to process the data we collect are in the UK.

By submitting your personal data, you agree to this storing and/or processing.

We do not store credit card details, nor do we share financial details with any 3rd parties. Any payment transactions are encrypted.

We do not store or process any other sensitive information from the web-site, unless detailed below.

Transmission of information via the internet is never completely secure. So we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data during transmission; any transmission is at your own risk.

Once we receive your information, we use appropriate procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
